How to replace the G112 internal glide gasket in an 8400DX Mytee Dry™ Upholstery Tool.
- Phillips head screwdrivers, #1 and #2
- Flathead screwdriver
- Silicone sealant
- Anti-seize compound
1. Open up the tool.
Remove the four screws holding the two halves of the tool together using the #2 Phillips screwdriver. Separate the two halves.
2. Pull the tubing from the head adapter.
You can separate the tubing from the tube adapter fitting by pulling on the tube while holding the adapter flange against the adapter.
3. Remove the glide.
Remove the two screws holding the glide in place using the #1 Phillips screwdriver. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully separate the glide from the plastic body.
4. Peel off the old gasket.
5. Install the new gasket.
Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant all around the gasket housing. Make sure there are no gaps in the silicone sealant. Place the new gasket in position on the gasket housing. Make sure the gasket is seated correctly.
6. Re-install the glide.
Place the glide back into place in the plastic body. Apply anti-seize compound to the two small screws and screw them in using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver to secure the glide.
7. Place metal valve support in position.
Place the metal valve support in position on top of the two middle pegs.
8. Insert the tube from the valve back into the push fitting.
9. Close up the tool.
Apply anti-seize compound to the four larger screws and screw the two halves back together using the #2 Phillips screwdriver. Let the silicone sealant cure for about 24 hours before using the tool.
